By binding the imKey Pass S6 as a Security Key for X (Twitter), attackers will find it extremely difficult to access your account without the physical key, even if your password is compromised. This significantly improves phishing resistance and account protection.
Before You Start
Please ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Device Ready: You have a working imKey Pass S6 (it is recommended to have the PIN set and fingerprint enrolled).
- Note: If you haven't set it up yet, the initial binding process will guide you through setting a PIN and enrolling a fingerprint.
- Computer Access: You have a computer (Windows/macOS) with an available USB-C port.
- Note: If you only have USB-A, use an official or high-quality adapter to avoid unstable connections.
- ogged In: You’re ready to log in to your X (Twitter) account (it is recommended to complete a standard login first)).
Mobile Setup Notice
When you try to add a Security Key in the X mobile app, X may prompt:
“Open your browser? You need to log in to twitter.com on your browser to add a security key.”
Therefore, we recommend completing the Security Key setup on a computer browser first, then returning to the mobile app for normal use.
1. Add imKey Pass S6 in a Computer Browser (Enable Security Key 2FA)
- Open x.com (or twitter.com) in a computer browser and log in.
- Click More in the left sidebar.
- Go to Settings and privacy.
- Go to Security and account access, then click Account information.
- Open Two-factor authentication.
- Select Security key.
- Enter your X account password when prompted to confirm.
- Insert imKey Pass S6 into your computer’s USB port, then follow the pop-up prompt to touch the fingerprint area to confirm.
- On first use, you’ll need to set a PIN and enroll a fingerprint.
- Name the security key (to distinguish primary vs backup), then click Next.
- A security notice may pop up—click Got it → Done.
- After setup, you’ll see a new entry in the Security Key list (meaning it was added successfully).
Recommendation: Add a backup security key (a second imKey Pass S6) for your core account and store it separately from your primary key.
2. How to Use It for Login Verification
When you sign in and enter your password, X will trigger 2FA verification:
- Choose Use a security key as the verification method.
- Insert imKey Pass S6.
- Follow the prompt to Use Security key.
Once verified, the login is complete.
3. Manage / Replace / Remove Security Keys
If you need to add a second backup key, delete a lost key, or manage your devices, return to:
Two-factor authentication → Security key
On this page you can typically:
- Add a new security key (recommended: add a backup)
- Remove a key that is no longer in use or has been lost
Important Reminder
Ensure you have a backup method before removing/resetting.
Before removing a security key or resetting your imKey Pass S6, make sure you still have other available sign-in/recovery methods (such as a backup security key or backup codes), so you don’t lose access to your account.
